Pet Nat is an abbreviation - the whole name is "Pétillant Naturel", which is French for "natural sparkling wine". But nobody says that, because "Pet Nat" just sounds cooler. Such a natural sparkling wine is not sulphurized and therefore a bit unpredictable.
