Commitment to climate protection

We clean up after ourselves

E-commerce deliveries have an environmental footprint. That's why we support innovative companies that remove carbon from the air.

Together, the participating companies...

  • Thousands of tons of carbon removed from the atmosphere
  • Climate-neutral shipping for more than ten million orders

Here's how it works: For every order we receive, a formula is used to calculate the estimated shipping emissions. Based on these estimates, a portion of our proceeds goes to companies vetted by Carbon Direct 's scientists. These companies use the money to remove as much carbon as our shipments caused. Any additional funds go toward further developing carbon removal technologies.

Let's get to know some of the companies that are eliminating our shipping emissions.

Heirloom

Heirloom 's direct air capture technology enhances the carbon mineralization process. Heirloom's technology accelerates the rate at which naturally occurring minerals capture CO₂, instead of using energy-intensive fans to draw in the air.

Remora

Remora captures CO₂ from the exhaust pipes of semi-trailer trucks while driving and stores it long-term.

Charm

Charm captures CO₂ from plant waste, converts it into a stable, carbon-rich liquid, and stores it safely deep underground—out of reach of wildfires and soil erosion.

Grassroots Carbon

Grassroots Carbon connects companies looking to purchase carbon removal credits with certified landowners who are able to sell nature-based soil carbon storage.

Grassroots Carbon offers soil carbon storage solutions to companies looking to reduce their carbon impact.
We are a team of soil scientists, ranchers, software engineers, entrepreneurs, and others from diverse industries and backgrounds, including Amazon, Shell, Expedia, and Stanford University.

Running Tide

Running Tide develops technologies that restore and accelerate natural processes in the ocean, helping to harness the world's largest carbon sink.

Our system combines the burial of biomass, which safely stores carbon in the deep sea for centuries, with increasing ocean alkalinity by converting atmospheric CO2 into stable dissolved inorganic carbon that remains there for centuries to millennia.
Running Tide is a global leader in open systems monitoring, reporting, and verification. We have spent the last six years developing the technology (hardware and software) required to monitor carbon flux in open/natural systems, integrating and enhancing the best available science and establishing independent third-party validation and verification.
Our carbon removal work has been validated by Deloitte for compliance with ISO and similar international standards. We are actively working toward compliance with the Reykjavik Protocol , and our carbon removal projects are audited and verified by accredited, internationally recognized audit firms.

Planetary

Planetary 's technology accelerates the natural process of removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by delivering safe "antiacids" to local marine environments. Producing antiacids from mine waste also produces green hydrogen and battery metals, which are critical for reducing emissions from transportation.
