This sophisticated creation refines any dish and turns a simple, crisp, fresh garden salad into an unforgettable taste experience.
As with all Pirate Cannery products, all ingredients come from sustainable fishing on the Atlantic coast of southern France. The processing and bottling is done by hand.

This creamy spread made from white tuna, eggplant, chickpeas, lemon and shallots develops its full flavor in both warm and cold dishes and goes wonderfully with pasta or rice, for example. But it can also be enjoyed wonderfully on its own.

Albacore tuna, known for its delicacy and considered the finest among tuna species, is at the heart of this culinary work of art.

The name tuna ganoush is a derivative of the well-known dish baba ganoush, which is particularly popular in the Middle East and consists primarily of oven-roasted eggplant. Baba Ganoush is characterized by a creamy consistency and an intense, smoky taste, which is rounded off by the addition of tahini (a paste made from sesame seeds), garlic, lemon juice and a selection of spices.
Baba Ganoush is often served with bread, pita, snacks or fresh vegetables. You can serve the tuna ganoush in exactly the same way.

Manufacturer

Pirate Cannerie is an artisan fish cannery in the Landes.
Lucie, 34 years old, started this business alone in April 2022.
She gets her fish from the fish auction in Ciboure in the Basque Country and processes everything in a former duck farm that she took over a few kilometers away in the Landes.
It also sources mackerel and sardines directly from small fishermen in Saint Jean de Luz, but also processes tuna, Pyrenean trout from Saint Étienne de Baigori and tacaud, a species of fish less known to the general public, in order to promote local and sustainable fishing.
Since she works alone, it is a small production, so not all recipes are available all year round, but change depending on the season of the fish.
Soon, squid, an invasive species due to warming waters, will also be canned.
Only trout is available all year round.
Pirate Cannerie's goal is to rejuvenate canning with modern and tasty recipes while celebrating local fisheries.

Delivery is currently only available in Germany, Austria and Denmark

Shipping costs (including VAT)

Deliveries to Germany with UPS, DPD, Hermes or DHL.

We calculate the shipping costs based on the order value (gross value of goods):

  • Goods value up to €80.00 = €8.95 with DHL, €6.95 with DPD, Hermes or UPS
  • For orders over €80.00 (after deduction of all discounts) we offer free shipping.

Shipping of heavy orders

For orders with a total weight of more than 10 kg, we reserve the right to ship exclusively via the shipping service providers DPD or UPS. This measure serves to ensure a reliable and efficient shipping process for heavier shipments.

We ask for your understanding for this regulation, which enables us to ensure smooth shipping even for larger order quantities.

Deliveries to Austria and Denmark

We calculate the shipping costs based on the order value (gross value of goods):

  • Goods value up to 149.99 € = 15.00 € (UPS)
  • For orders over 150.00 € (after deduction of all discounts) we offer free shipping.
Delivery times

Unless a different deadline is specified in the respective offer, the goods will be delivered domestically (Germany) within 5 to 7 working days.
If you have ordered items with different delivery times, we will send the goods in one shipment unless we have made different arrangements with you. In this case, the delivery time is determined by the item you ordered with the longest delivery time.

Where do you ship to?

Delivery is currently only in Germany and Austria.

With which shipping service provider do you ship?

We currently only work with UPS or DHL. You will be asked to select a delivery method during the ordering process.

How long does it take until I receive my order?

That depends on where you are. Orders to Germany take 3 to 5 working days to arrive. Delivery details will be provided in your confirmation email.

How can I track my order?

After your shipment has left our warehouse and has been scanned by the carrier, you will receive an automatic e-mail overnight with tracking information.
