Intense, complex, refined and balanced

Geronimo 2017 is a blend of Galego Dourado and Sercial. The musts were fermented together in French barrels. A bright and clear, slightly golden yellow appears in the glass. On the nose, aromas of citrus fruits, white peaches and pineapple come in a discreet way. The wine has a lot of tension and minerality, it is full-bodied with vibrant acidity and a very long finish.

Geronimo is a captivating wine with a long and very gastronomic finish that combines all the grilled fish of our Atlantic coast, as well as the stews, cataplanas and the beautiful Alentejo rice, intense and full of scents, enhanced with our herbs!

Wines for the cultivated and discerning connoisseur who is looking for and loves something special.

"For the white grapes, the 2017 vintage arrived very early in Portocarro. At the beginning of August we were in full swing in the vineyards. The year was very interesting, both qualitatively and quantitatively, and the maturity and terroir of the vineyards marked the wines we produced received.
When the Galego Dourado and the Sercial began fermenting in French oak fudders, which have also been used since 2012 to ferment and age red wine and some white musts, we found this harvest to be full of freshness and character and complexity. In our minds a possible new wine began to 'ferment', unlike anything we had in our portfolio, but with Portocarro's personality and backbone well marked. At the end of the "sur lies" (or battonage) phase we were able to create this practically 50/50 mix of Sercial and Galego Dourado that we called GERONIMO.

Herdade do Portocarro - Vineyards

This wine that we are now launching, and whose irreverence and playfulness we know, will give us a tremendous evolution in the bottle that will allow us to drink it for many good years!
Geronimo 2017 was made with a lot of vision, passion and affection. It is our wish that all these efforts are visible to our consumers and that if they drink this wine, like us, they will never forget it. A wine modeled after a great Apache warrior who was also a shaman. A wine that encapsulates its fighting qualities but also its wisdom and mysticism. A wine of earth linked to heaven."
José Mota Capitão (Winery) / António Rosado (Winemaker)
