A very successful combination: this creation opens with a delicate lemon note that beautifully complements the sardine without overpowering it.
The chili peppers add a subtly piquant (not spicy) dimension to the composition, creating a very balanced, fresh combination.
The sardines are hand-packed in pure, cold-pressed olive oil with a slice of preserved lemon and whole chili peppers, just as fresh as when they were caught.
The result is also a real eye-catcher: the sardines lie in the golden oil like pure silver – it makes for an original appetizer and adorns any table! For the sake of enjoyment, however, you should by no means miss out on the many other great creations from the incomparably rich range of flavors offered by canned sardines: sardines in a fruity sauce, in white wine, in butter, with water and lemon … Try them!
The sardine is still the focal point of many port cities in Brittany, but also in Spain and Portugal. It is not considered an endangered species.
