The pink onions from Brittany, harvested in late summer, are characterized by their refined flavors. Their delicate pink flesh with fruity and sweet aromas harmonizes wonderfully with these traditional sardines and the green notes of the oregano buds.
The oregano buds are known for their strong aroma, which has peppery and lemony nuances. The sardines were produced as a limited edition in summer 2023.
Oregano adds a herbal note and provides an unusual but pleasant taste. It was considered sacred by the Egyptians and Indians and was said to bring joy and happiness to those who consumed it. In the Middle Ages, oregano was added to farmers' food to give them strength and enthusiasm before their workday. The plant was also used as a love potion.
Thanks to its oceanic climate and draining soils, Brittany has been the ideal soil for growing this variety of onion with its subtle and moderate level of pungency for 400 years. This region is known for its know-how passed down from generation to generation and is perfect for the demanding and delicate cultivation of aromatic plants, especially bulbous plants.
