A young, seductive wine, particularly suitable for the warm season.
This “Pet Nat” Pequenos Rebentos from Márcio Lopes is a Portuguese sparkling wine made from 100% Loureiro grapes. It is made completely naturally, i.e. without the addition of sulfur (no SO2).
Its bubbles are very fine, almost foamy and the palate also delights with notes of citrus fruits, apples, orange blossoms and honey. On the nose you can sense white fruits, peach, grapefruit, lime peel.
Very refreshing thanks to its creamy, fresh mousse, its good volume, a delicate aftertaste and a lot of minerality.
Since the product is unfiltered and contains no sulfites, the “Pet Nat” may become a little cloudy after opening. This does not affect its quality in any way and it probably won't happen anyway as the bottle, once opened, will be emptied quickly.
“Pet Nat” is the abbreviation for “Pétillant Naturel”, which means “natural sparkling wine” in French.
“Pet Nat” just sounds cooler!
Serve cool, between 6 - 8 °C.
This Pet Nat only undergoes one fermentation and is created without the addition of sugar or yeast. The grapes were harvested in mid-August and pressed very gently.

Márcio Lopes was born in Porto in 1983 and spent many summer holidays with his grandparents in the hinterland of Porto where they grew corn and wheat and also produced wine. At the age of 6, his grandmother placed him in a lagar (traditional Portuguese granite basin used for winemaking) so that he could crush the grapes in it with his feet, as is still the traditional practice today. This was the first of many many wines that the young Márcio has produced since then. The rest is history...
A year before graduating in agricultural engineering in 2006, Márcio began working with the famous winemaker Anselmo Mendes in Melgaço. In 2008 he went to Australia, where he was responsible for two vintages in Rutherglen and Tasmania. In 2010 he started his own project “Pequenos Rebentos” (Portuguese for “little sprouts”) in the Minho region, home of Vinhos Verdes.
