Light and clear in taste with aromas of fruit compote and dried fruit, plums, cherries, almonds, cocoa and honey.

The Pommeau comes from Normandy and was developed by fruit growers shortly after the war. It consists of freshly squeezed apple juice, which is prevented from fermenting by the addition of Calvados. The mixture is then stored in barrique barrels for between 36 and 48 months. The result is an intense apple aroma, a beautifully fruity sweetness in perfect balance with refreshing acidity. Pommeau is drunk as an aperitif or digestif. But you can also drink it with certain meals or even use it to cook desserts and sauces.

  • Age: min. 36 months in oak barrels
  • Production: two-thirds of the apples must be of the Fréquin Rouge, Binet Rouge, Bisquet and Douce Moën varieties. One third of a one year old Calvados Pays d'Auge with an alcohol content between 68-70%.

As early as 1941, Pierre Huet's cellar was selected as a showcase object for a commission that was to define the "Calvados" appellation. Perhaps he is not entirely innocent in the fact that only the "Pays d'Auge" received its own appellation.

    Where do you ship to?
