Stainless steel is an alloy steel. It is produced by adding chromium, which significantly increases its corrosion resistance. Stainless steel requires no special maintenance.
The ideal tool for collecting morels, porcini mushrooms, chanterelles, trumpet mushrooms, field mushrooms, etc.
Beechwood is the most commonly used wood for Opinel handles. Sourced from French forests, it is hard, durable, and easy to work. It has a homogeneous appearance and a light color ranging from yellow to pink. It is recognizable by its many small dark streaks. The handle is lacquered for better protection against moisture and dirt.
The Virobloc safety ring was invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955. It is featured on all folding knives from model No. 6 onwards. The Virobloc is machined from stainless steel and consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. Besides locking the blade in the open position (for safe use), it is now also possible to lock the blade in the closed position (for safe transport).
This knife should not go in the dishwasher!
