Intense, complex, refined and balanced

Yellow-greenish colour. Clean and intense nose with citrus notes, orange blossom. In the mouth it shows a lively and intense acidity, again with light notes of citrus and orange. Longer, fresher and persistent on the finish.

There is no mashing. The grapes are pressed as soon as they arrive at the winery. Fermentation takes place at low temperature. The wine is aged weekly on the lees for 3 months ("sur lie"). Then bottled with a cork stopper.

Goes well with fish, salads, white meat and sushi. Ideal serving temperature: 8°C to 10°C.

The Herdade do Portocarro winery is located south of Lisbon, in the district of Alcácer do Sal, surrounded by olive groves and paddocks in the middle of a fertile and idyllic area. The 15 hectare south-facing vineyard is located in an area crossed by the Sado River and characterized by hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. The warm and temperate Mediterranean climate in the Setúbal Peninsula region is characterized by the proximity of the sea. This special landscape and the love for wine and high-quality raw materials result in products of unique quality every year. JOSÉ ABREU LOPES DA MOTA CAPITÃO's project focuses on a philosophy of high quality wines in limited quantities and exclusive production. Integrated crop protection without human intervention ensures that the wine can express its full potential and avoids a number of traditional winemaking processes such as B. the fermentation of the grapes in barrels made of French oak wood, give the wines their unique character.

Single vineyard surrounded by trees. South-facing hilltop plantation 60m above the Sado River valley. The days are hot, the nights are cool, which are ideal conditions for the vines and thus ensure excellent quality of the grapes.
Harvest: The harvest is done by hand and the grape selection is carried out in two stages.
Aging: vinification in 5000 liter French oak barrels. Aging with a very light batônnage.

Where do you ship to?

Delivery is currently only in Germany and Austria.

With which shipping service provider do you ship?

We currently only work with UPS or DHL. You will be asked to select a delivery method during the ordering process.
