Sardines Millésimées 2020 in a very limited series.
Nuri is a brand of Conserveira Pinhais in Matosinhos, Portugal.
The best catches of the year are processed with the highest quality ingredients.
Each can is stored for at least 12 months to receive the “RESERVA” rating. During this time the sardines become even more tender thanks to the pure olive oil and become an extraordinary fish delicacy.
The sardines from 2020 are currently available in a strictly limited edition.
Nuri RESERVA particularly stands for the unique Nuri quality, because the processed sardines go through a particularly careful selection process. Only those sardines that have all the aging properties are hand-selected.
As with all Nuri products, they are made by hand in Portugal. Each Nuri vintage sardine is marinated in pure olive oil and spices for at least 12 months and then impresses with its exceptionally delicate taste.

The Conserveira "Pinhais" is a family business that was founded in 1920 in the small fishing village of Matosinhos near Porto. Today, almost 100 years later, the company is still family-owned under the leadership of Dr. Antonio Pinhal and is one of the most renowned canned fish manufacturers in the country.
True to the company motto "quality over quantity", Pinhais & Co. Ltd. still worked using traditional methods, with very little done by machines and most of the work done by hand, which is a rarity today. The olive oil is of very good quality as the Pinhais have their own olive grove in Trás-os-Montes.

Even the ancient Romans valued sardines and ate them salted, marinated or smoked. To this day, the sardine is and will remain a high-quality product if the quality and production methods are right. Thanks to their short lifespan, they have absorbed very few pollutants from the sea and have a high proportion of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and trace elements. 100g of sardines (about 8 fish) contain 40% of the recommended daily dose of calcium and 100% of the vitamin D necessary to absorb the trace elements. In order for the human body to be able to absorb all of these valuable nutrients, it is essential that the sardine is preserved in high-quality olive oil, because only this oil allows the human body to break it down and metabolize it.
For the sake of enjoyment, however, you should definitely not do without the many other great creations from the incomparably rich range of flavors of canned sardines: sardines in a fruity sauce, in white wine, in butter, with water and lemon... try it out!
The sardine is still the linchpin of many port cities in Brittany, but also in Spain and Portugal. Fortunately, however, it is not in danger of extinction and can be enjoyed without regret.
