Every delivery’s carbon footprint is calculated based on weight, shipping method, and distance traveled. We neutralize these emissions by purchasing verified carbon removal credits from groundbreaking projects. When you add a contribution to your order, 100% of that money is used to pay for additional carbon removal.
With your purchase, you’ll join a community of proactive merchants and customers dedicated to a sustainable future. Together, we've removed emissions for over 44 million deliveries and removed over 31 thousand tonnes of carbon.
We work with a network of pioneering carbon removal companies that have been vetted by the commerce platform Shopify.

La Truitelle: A sustainable project in the Pyrenees
In the heart of the Cathar Pyrenees, at an altitude of 1150 metres, lies the Pisciculture de La Fajolle, which François Isambert took over in 2008. This company, which has been AB-labelled since 2001, launched a unique project: the production of the first canned small fish in oil with the AB (Agriculture Biologique) label. The idea was not only innovative in terms of taste, but also ecologically responsible.
It took several years to perfect the fish farming cycle, develop recipes, test manufacturing and preservation methods and finally launch La Truitelle preserves in spring 2019. Since then, the company has received numerous awards and distinctions that recognize its commitment.
La Truitelle preserves offer an alternative to the overfishing of traditional fish species used in the fish canning industry, whose stocks are decreasing year after year.
In addition, La Truitelle canned food helps reduce feed consumption in aquaculture by reducing overfishing of forage fish and krill, which are processed into fish meal and oil. For example, largemouth tetras consume only half as much feed as portion trout and up to four times less than large trout.
The feed for the nutrias used in the farm consists of an Ecocert-certified granulate made from sustainably caught fishmeal and fish oil. This does not come from feed fish, but from by-products of aquaculture and fishing that were previously unused.
La Truitelle canned products are the first cans of small fish to bear the AB seal. They mark a step towards a product that could have a "zero impact" on the sea in the medium term by replacing fish meal and oil with insect meal and oil. The partnership with a leading company that recycles insect meal from green waste is a milestone in the aquaculture and fish canning industry.
All materials used to make La Truitelle preserves are 100% recyclable (metal and cardboard). The cardboard is made from 80% recycled paper. The adhesives for the labels are of plant origin. Clear sorting instructions on the packaging facilitate recycling and help reduce waste production.
