This Calvados matures in oak barrels for more than 20 years.
On the nose you can feel aromas of tarte tatin, caramel with salted butter and baked apples. in the mouth you can still feel the freshness and acidity of the apple with some mint and a little clove. There are also notes of pepper and the apple disappears. In the finish remains a beautiful rancio and a long finale. A good balance between freshness, richness and rancio, testament to an old eau de vie.
Enjoy it best after a meal to stimulate digestion.
Pierre Huet's origin-protected Calvados varieties are obtained through the double distillation of various ciders, which in turn are the result of 12 months of fermentation of apples in oak barrels.
The first distillation serves to distil the cider. The result is the so-called "petites eaux" with around 30 - 35% vol. The second distillation results in the Calvados with 40% vol.
