These hazelnuts, considered by connoisseurs to be the best in the world, are truly something special: they smell like the finest nougat and each one tastes like a small praline… no comparison to other hazelnuts!
After harvesting, the hazelnuts are dried in portions in the sun in the yard of the Piedmontese hazelnut farmer José Noé, a process that can take several days.
Only then is the entire harvest stored and cracked open to order. The careful roasting takes place in very small batches of just 20 kilos for 30 minutes at a maximum temperature of 150 °C.
This careful treatment intensifies the delicate aroma of the nuts, makes them crisp and crumbly to bite, and causes them to almost completely lose their brown, bitter skins – what remains is removed by hand.
Once the nuts have completely cooled down, they are vacuum-packed in portions and shipped immediately.
And when you open the bag at home, you'll smell the fresh roasted aroma!
