The flagship of the Quinta do Mouro, a complex wine with enormous potential!
The Quinta do Mouro 2015 is a blend of Aragonez, Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The robe is deep red to aubergine, the nose inky and floral, somewhat fleshy, with notes of warm earth, membrillo, blackcurrant and liquorice.
These notes are also found on the palate, where the wine appears robust and the rich, ripe and powerful tannins unfold.
Dry but not dust dry with a nice velvety feel. Complex with lots of structure and balance, with a long finish and an interesting mineral (slate) note.
Quinta do Mouro 2015 was partially destemmed and the grapes were foot-tamped in the traditional way, then aged for 14 months in 300-litre French and Portuguese oak barrels, 50% of which were new.
