Muscat de Beaumes de Venise 2016

A fresh sweet wine with lots of fruit and lots of energy.

Balaguera is a fresh and not heavy sweet wine, with a powerful and elegant bouquet with notes of candied Seville oranges, apricots and honey. In the mouth it is fresh, with a lot of tension, velvety and creamy with light toasted notes. The finish is long and fresh.

The grapes are harvested overripe, pressed directly, this wine is matured in large 600 liter oak barrels for 18 months.

Goes perfectly with foie gras and Roquefort. Since it is much more digestible, it replaces many Sauternes.

This wine is the result of a spontaneous decision: in the early morning of November 14, 2011, the harvest on the southern slope of the Duclos plot was already in full swing, but not yet over. The Petit-Manseng grapes hung golden and already dried out on their vines. Since the weather forecast for the coming days looked very bad, it was immediately decided: these grapes will be harvested this afternoon! The grapes were harvested in the state of a Beerenauslese. The name "Balaguera" is borrowed from the south wind that blows from Spain over the Pyrenees and has a reputation for driving people crazy, like drunk...
