The family history of the Berthier winery spans five generations. The current owners, the brothers Clément and Florian Berthier, recently took over the responsibility and continue the passion of their predecessors. They emphasize the importance of ancestral knowledge for their current work and the future of the winery.

The brothers complement each other perfectly in their roles: Florian coordinates the work in the vineyards, while Clément is responsible for winemaking and marketing. They are mainly based in Coteaux du Giennois, but also operate in Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé and Menetou-Salon .

Their philosophy is based on respect for nature and the terroir. They attach great importance to a healthy environment and the care of the soil. This belief led to the winery's organic certification in 2022. They take a minimalist approach to winemaking to bring out the full potential of each terroir. The result is authentic wines that reflect the complexity of their origins.

In the vineyards, the Berthiers use environmentally friendly methods, including grass cover, gentle ploughing and promoting biodiversity. They practice yield limitation and natural pest control. In the cellar, they rely on gentle extraction, fermentation with native yeasts and protection by natural CO2 instead of excessive sulphites.

Coteaux du Giennois, its main growing area, is in no way inferior to its better-known neighbouring regions.
