The Pinot Noir 2023 Les Originals from Domaine Berthier is a remarkable red wine with a characteristic profile. Its bright garnet to ruby red color already promises an intense taste experience.
The bouquet is typical for a Pinot Noir with a variety of fruit aromas. Black fruits dominate, especially cherries, blackberries and blueberries. There are also notes of red currants, which give the wine an additional dimension.
On the palate, the wine impresses with its velvety texture and pleasant freshness right from the start. The fruity components harmonize perfectly with spicy nuances, leading to an elegant, balanced finish.
The winemakers Clément and Florian Berthier describe their Pinot Noir as a "wine of pleasure" that impresses with its elegance, intensity and spicy components.
The wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes that grow on pure limestone soil. After harvesting, the grapes are gently pressed and the juice rests for 36 hours. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature (15-18°C), followed by four months of maturation on the fine lees.
This versatile wine goes perfectly with grilled red meat or roast rabbit with mustard. A surprising recommendation is the combination with liquorice ice cream.
The Pinot Noir should be served at 10-12°C. The winemakers recommend enjoying it within 3 to 5 years to reach its full potential.
