Quevedo's Tawny Port Colheita 1997 is an excellent example of the 1997 vintage, considered one of the best Port wines of the 1990s.
The wine is spicy, lively, and displays notes of olives and herbs. It has a velvety texture and a fruity finish.
This wine offers refreshing acidity and a rich flavor spectrum, including notes of crème brûlée, nutty undertones, and a hint of caramel, rounded off by an appealing finish with notes of grilled hazelnuts.
Tasting notes:
- Color: Medium saturation, dark brick red.
- Aroma: Subtle but inviting aroma with recognizable scents of candied fruits and freshly picked berries.
- Palate: The wine is characterized by refreshing acidity and flavors of candied fruit, crème brûlée, and nuts. The finish is characterized by grilled hazelnuts.
The 1997 Colheita Tawny Port is a cuvée of typical grape varieties of the region, mainly from Quinta Vale d'Agodinho.
It was first aged in large 14,000-liter vats and then in 650-liter barrels. Although it was released in 2014, it has evolved through additional aging and a new bottling process.
There is no need to store Colheitas, so enjoy it immediately.
