La Belle-Iloise's new Mayoz'algues sauce offers a healthy alternative to classic mayonnaise.
It is produced in Quiberon and contains seaweed from Brittany, specifically royal kombu from a "Natura 2000" area in Finistère.
The sauce is characterized by an iodine-rich, slightly spicy taste and is refined with French rapeseed oil, salt from Guérande, Dijon mustard and a spice mix.
Mayoz'algues is lower in fat and calories than conventional mayonnaise, but rich in nutrients. The king kombu provides vitamins, marine minerals, fiber, and protein, while the rapeseed oil contributes valuable unsaturated fatty acids as well as vitamins E and K.
