The cod liver for this exquisite delicacy is obtained from cod caught in the cold, clear seas off the coast of Iceland.
After being caught, the fish are processed by hand to preserve freshness and quality. Using a traditional method, the liver is carefully removed and smoked over real beechwood.
It is then carefully filled whole into cans, without any added flavorings or oil. The liver naturally coats itself with its own delicious oil, which is released during the ripening process.
