Crème de Cassis de Dijon impresses with a truly unusual concentration of aromas: a complex nose, subtle and discreet with notes of fresh berries, rich and generous on the palate with a pleasant slightly bitter note, good tension and very clear purity in the finish.
Ideal for Kir or Kir Royal!
As with all Crèmes de Cassis, the best and finest variety of blackcurrants (le Noir de Bourgogne) is used for this one as well, which is harvested exclusively in the Côte d'Or.
The berries are macerated in a hydro-alcoholic solution for approximately 10 weeks to extract the intensity of their aromas. The resulting alcoholic juice, known as the "infusion," forms the basis of Crème de Cassis. It is then simply enriched with white sugar.
