These sardines are like a winter garden. When the cold comes and the flowers fade, we like to keep them and their colorful illustrations close while we wait for spring. This project was started 10 years ago, and so, inside this commemorative sardine, 10 flowers grow from a seed, one for each sardine that brought color to those who caught it. On the back is the pencil sketch on which the illustration is based.
