The wild boar is one of the hunters' fetish animals.
The iconic knife, size N°08, is available with a laser-engraved wild boar motif.
It is the most versatile of the collection. Its size and weight make it a valued everyday tool.
The 8.5 cm long blade has very good cutting properties, the wooden handle is comfortable to hold. The Virobloc® locking system additionally secures the blade.
Oak wood is a hard wood that is very resistant, especially to insects and fungi, thanks to the high tannin content. It comes from French forestry and has a brown-yellowish appearance with a straight and regular grain. The handle is varnished to protect against moisture and dirt.
The modified Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel was adjusted for Opinel and is known for its sharpness and easy maintenance. The stainless steel has undergone a thermal treatment called martensite, which gives it a very long service life. The carbon content is at least 0.40%, which means that a very satisfactory sharpness is achieved, but at the same time there is no sensitivity to corrosion. Blade hardness 57-59 HRC.
The Virobloc safety ring was invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955. It is present on all folding knives from model N°06. The Virobloc is cut from stainless steel and consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safe use), it is now also possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safe transport).
This knife does not belong in the dishwasher!
