This elegant and complex single-vintage port was bottled in 2022 and is now ready to drink. However, it has the potential to age in the bottle and could benefit from another 10 or 15 years to develop greater complexity.
On the palate: Full of red fruit, very young, with firm tannins. The long finish shows floral notes with a hint of spices and passion fruit.
Viticulture in this steep-slope region is largely carried out on terraces, which drastically minimizes the use of mechanical cultivation methods.
Color: Saturated ruby red
Aromas: Dominated by fresh violet aromas, mixed with dark cherries and spices.
On the palate: Full of red fruit, very young, with firm tannins. The long finish shows floral notes with a hint of spices and passion fruit.
Pairs well with: Dark chocolate, fruit desserts, aged cheeses

Ruby is the color of all red wines when they are made. Ruby Port has a red color, predominant aromas of red fruit, and is full-bodied on the palate. It is bottled while it is still young to preserve its red color and fresh aromas before they oxidize. It can be aged in oak, but only for a short time, no more than a few years, and almost always in large-capacity oak barrels to reduce the influence of oxygen during its aging. The ruby style varies depending on the intensity of the color, complexity of the aromas, and full-bodiedness. From least to most, here is the order:
- Ruby: a blend of approximately three-year-old port wine.
- Reserve Ruby: a blend of approximately six-year-old port wine.
- Late Bottled Vintage (LBV): a single vintage that is bottled 4 to 6 years after harvest.
- Crusted: Vintage Port that is bottled 2 to 5 years after harvest and aged for at least three years in the cellar to form a crust inside the bottle.
- Vintage: a vintage that is bottled 2 years after harvest.
