Intense, complex, refined and balanced
The 2019 Geronimo is a blend of Galego Dourado and Sercial grapes. The musts were fermented together in French barrels. In the glass, it displays a bright and clear, slightly golden yellow color. The nose offers subtle aromas of citrus fruits, white peach, and pineapple. The wine has a great deal of tension and minerality, is full-bodied with vibrant acidity, and has a very long finish.
Geronimo is a captivating wine with a long and very gastronomic finish, which will perfectly complement all the grilled fish from our Atlantic coast, as well as the stews, cataplanas and the wonderful Alentejo rice, intense and full of fragrances, which is refined with our herbs!
Wines for the sophisticated and discerning connoisseur who seeks and loves something special.
"The 2019 vintage for white grapes in Portocarro came very early. By the beginning of August, we were in full swing in the vineyards. The year was very interesting both qualitatively and quantitatively, and the ripeness and terroir of the vineyards characterized the wines we obtained.
When the fermentation of the Galego Dourado and Sercial began in French oak barrels, which since 2012 have also been used for fermenting and aging red wine and some white musts, we realized that this harvest was full of freshness, character, and complexity. In our minds, a possible new wine began to "ferment," unlike anything we had in our portfolio, but with the personality and backbone of Portocarro well established. At the end of the "sur lies" (or battonage) phase, we were able to create this virtually 50/50 blend of Sercial and Galego Dourado, which we named GERONIMO.

This wine, which we are now launching, and whose irreverence and playfulness we know, will give us tremendous evolution in the bottle, allowing us to drink it for many good years!
Geronimo 2019 was made with great vision, passion, and affection. It is our wish that all these efforts are visible to our consumers and that, when they drink it, as we do, they will never forget this wine. A wine modeled after a great Apache warrior who was also a shaman. A wine that encompasses his martial qualities, but also his wisdom and mysticism. A wine of the earth, connected to the sky.
