Juca, named after Constantino Ramos' grandfather, the former bandmaster and winemaker from Riba de Mouro, is more than just a wine. It is a tribute to an entire village and its medieval winemaking tradition.
Constantino creates this wine from two century-old vineyards to honor the rich history and culture of Riba de Mouro. Juca embodies an ethnographic concept that brings a forgotten but breathtakingly beautiful region back to light.
It is made traditionally and naturally: Hand-picked grapes are carefully sorted, destemmed, and fermented in barrels on the skins. After six months of aging in stainless steel tanks, the wine is bottled unfiltered and with almost no additives.
In the glass, Juca reveals aromas of raspberries, red berries, and wildflowers, paired with mineral notes of tar, pine, and forest—an olfactory journey to Riba de Mouro. On the palate, it is fresh, with fine tannins, good structure, and complexity.
As a tribute to local cuisine, Juca pairs excellently with traditional dishes such as feijoada, rojões, or cozido à portuguesa.
It should be served slightly chilled at around 13°C to fully express its aromas.
