The N°09 Cime pocket knife is a testament to unique woodworking craftsmanship, combining elegance with traditional French know-how.
The 9 cm blade is made of stainless steel, while the handle is crafted from three French woods in contrasting colors: mountain maple, heat-treated ash, and black walnut, with a glossy buffed finish.
The knife's design is reminiscent of peaks, mountain summits, and wave crests.
The blade is made of martensitic stainless steel and is reliably secured in both the open and closed positions by the rotatable Virobloc safety ring.
It comes in a lovely box and is perfect as a gift.
Because the handle is made of several joined wooden parts, it is more sensitive to moisture and impacts than a one-piece wooden handle. Therefore, this knife should not be put in the dishwasher—after cleaning, it is best to let it dry tip-down to prevent water from entering the handle.
- Handle length: 11.82 cm
- Handle material: mountain maple, heat-treated ash, and black walnut, buffed finish
- Size: OneSize
- Blade length: 9 cm
- Blade material: martensitic stainless steel (55–57 HRC)
The Virobloc safety ring was invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955. It is found on all folding knives from model N°06 onwards. The Virobloc is cut from stainless steel and consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safe use), it is now also possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safe transport).
