The No. 8 is Opinel's best-selling model and has been made in Savoy since 1890. The handle of this edition is made of olive wood, light to medium brown with a dark grain.
Because every piece of wood grows differently, no handle looks like the other. The Virobloc ring, introduced by Opinel in 1955, locks the blade in the open position and keeps it closed in your pocket.
The set includes a leather pouch and a wooden box made of fir and beech, in which the knife can be given as a gift.

Olive wood is denser than beech and swells less, but it still does not like to be constantly wet. Dry the knife after use and occasionally apply a little oil to the handle.
Do not put in the dishwasher.
