Conserveira do Arade is an artisanal fish cannery founded in 2015 on the banks of the Arade River in the Algarve, more precisely in Parchal near Lagoa, Portugal.
As the only canning factory in the western Algarve, the company combines traditional production methods with innovative approaches with a young and dynamic team.
The three founders – Belgian economics professor Vincent Jonckheere, pharmacist Manuel Mendes and fishing boat owner André Teixeira – have set themselves the task of producing high-quality canned fish based exclusively on fresh, sustainable and local products.
The factory has developed its own production processes and places particular emphasis on artisanal quality. Under the brands "Saboreal" and "Papa Anzóis," Conserveira do Arade offers a variety of canned fish, including sardines, mackerel, and tuna, refined with typical Portuguese ingredients and spices such as olives, almonds, coriander, and the traditional Algarve sauce.
Since 2023, the company has also operated the "Mercearia do Algarve" shop, where visitors can purchase not only its own products but also other regional specialties. Interested parties also have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the factory, where they can learn about the entire production process and taste the various products.
