Conceito stands for producing high-quality products, which is also evident in this affordable White Port.
It is made from a blend of 10 different traditional grape varieties, including Rabigato, Códega do Larinho, Códega, Gouveio, Donzelinho Branco, Folgazão and Arinto, adding to its complexity and depth.
The unique terroir characteristics that come from the granite soils of the vineyards and an old vineyard not affected by phylloxera on a small granite plateau at 600 meters altitude in Freixo de Numão give this wine a special touch.
Winemaking at Conceito combines traditional granite lagars for fermentation with mechanical and modern techniques to ensure the quality and precision of the wine.
This White Port impresses with rich, complex and intense aromas as well as a light golden shimmering color with shiny reflections. The nose opens up a complex play of aromas of citrus fruits such as lemon and grapefruit, ripe pears, apples and tropical fruits such as mango and pineapple. On the palate it is inviting with pleasant freshness and balanced acidity, followed by notes of citrus fruits, pears and apples as well as more complex nuances of honey, nuts and dried fruits.
The wine combines pleasant sweetness with a certain dryness for a balanced taste experience. The long-lasting finish with lovely sweetness and elegant acidity leaves a warm feeling in the mouth.
A White Port like this one from Conceito is perfect as an aperitif, perhaps mixed with tonic, or as an accompaniment to cheese to highlight its sweetness and complexity. Serve it slightly chilled (8-14 degrees) to fully showcase its nuances and characteristics.
