This 20 year old Tawny Port from Conceito offers a sublime wine experience and embodies some of the best wines of the Douro Valley.
It brings together a blend of over 20 traditional Douro grape varieties, including Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela and Rufete, as a tribute to the region's rich diversity.
The grapes come from old, approximately 80-year-old vines from the Quinta do Cabido on the Teja River in Numão. Winemaking combines traditional methods such as foot pressing in granite soils with modern techniques to preserve the authentic character of the grapes.
The Tawny presents itself in the glass in a deep amber color and enchants with seductive aromas of dried fruits such as plums, figs and raisins, accompanied by nuts and subtle spices.
The palate is silky smooth and rich, with a velvety texture, with the dried fruits from the aroma merging with rich notes of caramel and honey.
The nutty character provides deep complexity, while subtle acidity balances the sweetness and gives the wine a refreshing lightness.
Serve the Tawny at 14-16 degrees as an elegant end to dinner. Its nutty and spicy character also makes it an excellent companion for desserts.
