Elaborado 100% com a casta Alvarinho, a partir de uvas de viticultores selecionados de Melgaço e Monção.
The Monção and Melgaço subregion is famous for its unique wines, characterized by their exceptional freshness, minerality, balance, and lightness. This also applies to this Vinho Verde from Márcio Lopes, for which he used grapes from select producers in Monção and Melgaço.
An exceptional Alvarinho that reflects the full complexity and finesse of this noble grape variety. The green color in the glass already promises a special tasting experience.
The intense bouquet reveals a fascinating composition of tropical fruits, underscored by subtle vegetal notes – a result of the gentle, eight-hour maceration. The meticulous hand-picking and transport in small crates ensure the optimal quality of the grapes.
Temperature-controlled fermentation at 18-23°C over 15 days gives this wine its impressive structure. On the palate, it presents itself perfectly balanced, with a remarkably long, lingering finish that underscores its exceptional quality.
A versatile accompaniment to fine cuisine, it pairs harmoniously with salads, fine fish, white meat, and grilled dishes. The optimal serving temperature is 12°C. When stored properly—in a cool, dark, and dry place—this Alvarinho demonstrates impressive aging potential of up to 10 years.
As a winemaker, Márcio Lopes intervenes only as much as absolutely necessary and relies as much as he can on the natural processes of winemaking. For example, he ferments his wines exclusively with natural yeasts and—like many of the producers we work with—he firmly believes that, if the grapes are of the right quality, he can produce outstanding, harmonious, high-quality wines that reflect the character of their terroir. And he seems to be doing quite well: Márcio Lopes' wines are unmistakably fresh and lively, characterized without exception by bright, clear, typical varietal aromas. They are present and pure, with crisp acidity and a balanced texture. This makes the wine the ideal accompaniment to seafood and dishes with creamy sauces.
