Hénaff, an emblematic brand of Breton gastronomy with centuries of know-how. The story begins in 1907 in Pouldreuzic (Finistère), in the land of the Bigoudène. Jean Hénaff, the great-grandfather of today's managing director Loïc Hénaff, originally founded the company to preserve the vegetables grown by local farmers. It saved them from driving too long to sell their produce during the harvest season and also enabled them to spread sales over a longer period of time.

The famous Hénaff pate was born in 1915. With the same logic, Jean Hénaff wanted to help local farmers, of which he was one, by proposing a solution to conserve a local raw material, the pig. Since then, the recipe has remained unchanged! The Hénaff pâté still brings together the best cuts of pork to offer gourmets more flavor and less fat, a pinch of salt from Guérande, organic pepper from Sao Tomé and a mysterious blend of spices whose secret is well guarded. In order to offer it a good maturation and to give it time to develop all its aromas, the Hénaff pâté is kept in a storage room for at least 6 weeks before shipment.

In 2008, the company became one of the only two French companies allowed to export meat products to the United States by obtaining the USDA approval issued by the American authorities. The Hénaff brand is now present in over 50 countries around the world, representing 5% of production.

The Hénaff brand has transcended all borders, even the borders of the earth! In 2011, an exceptional collaboration began between the company and the French space agency CNES as part of the Special Event Meals program with chef Alain Ducasse. Every year since then, Hénaff has made the holiday dishes that astronauts on the International Space Station (ISS) are treated to.
