Juicy and tasty, rich in vitamins and low in fat... and a touch luxurious.

Thanks to four generations of experience and a state-of-the-art factory, the André Laurent family business is a leader in the French sauerkraut market. Based in Blignicourt, in the heart of Champagne, the company has been growing cabbage since 1906, which is processed into the finest choucroute (sauerkraut). The unique terroir and the know-how handed down for generations allow the Laurents to produce an exceptionally sweet and light sauerkraut that is very digestible.

The sauerkraut is carefully canned and sterilized immediately after fermentation is complete. This not only preserves the fresh taste of the product, but also its nice, crispy, firm and at the same time delicate texture.

Völlig verkocht

Die Beschreibung las sich vorzüglich – jedoch waren die Wachteln und das Kraut enttäuschend. Beides völlig zerkocht: Die Wachteln fielen auseinander und sogar die winzigen Knochen zerlegten sich, so dass man keinen Bissen nehmen konnte, ohne die Knochensplitter im Mund zu haben. Vom legendären Elsässer Kraut konnte ich nichts entdecken, nicht mal sauer war es. Auf der Zutatenliste waren Armangnac und Champagner aufgeführt. Das Glas hatte wohl mal neben den beiden Flaschen gestanden.
Insgesamt eine fade Angelegenheit und sehr enttäuschend. Nie wieder!
