Chestnut honey is a characterful honey with a strong, woody taste. It has a slightly bitter note.

It will delight gourmets looking for a raw product. Produced in central France, this honey has a very different taste to chestnut honeys from the Dordogne.

It goes perfectly with herbal teas, in yoghurts or even better with a piece of cheese.

This honey was neither heated nor stirred.
This means that it will naturally crystallize into small, medium or large grains. This results in a different texture depending on the bloom and the season the bees collected them.

Manufacturer

Le Rucher des Brosses - Les Ouvrieres.

Based in Allogny, in the Center Val de Loire since 2019, Charles and Marine own a few hundred beehives that they transport to the four corners of the department from April to September. As passionate bee lovers, they practice thoughtful beekeeping.

Passionate about bees since he was 15, Charles decided to make beekeeping his career in 2019.

He has done internships at French and Canadian apiaries in search of improvements and conducted research on bumblebees during his student years in New Zealand.

Along with two other beekeepers, he also deals with the production of honey, swarms and queens.

Marine has a degree in the food industry and takes care of the bottling of the honey, the shipping of the orders, the development and the marketing to our partners.
Since October 2020 she has been developing our other brand of products made with honey.

After each harvest, the honey is extracted at room temperature, it is unpasteurized and bottled by hand in the workshop before it lands on your table. No more, no less.

The honeys are only filtered to remove any unwanted residue. A small, lighter film may appear on the surface of the glass due to a thin layer of wax. The wax layer is completely edible.
