Château Tour Haut-Caussan is a family estate, run today by Véronique Courrian, who is in charge of sales, and her brother Fabien Courrian, who takes care of the vines and the winery. The Courrian family has lived in Blaignan-Médoc since 1634 and bought the estate in 1877. It was Philippe Courrian, father of Véronique and Fabien, who raised the château to the top of the Crus Bourgeois du Médoc.
The Château Tour Haut-Caussan vineyard extends over 17 hectares on two high-quality sectors: a very beautiful limestone hill on Blaignan and gravel soils on Potensac. The grape varieties are divided equally between Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The vines are worked in a traditional way, carefully and without the use of chemical fertilizers and harvested by hand. The vinification and the aging process take place in classic oak barrels (25% new, the rest divided between one, two and three year old barrels).
Château Tour Haut-Caussan wines are excellent accompaniments at the table, avoiding any excessive force. They are tender and have good aging potential.
