Almadraba is both a fishing facility and a traditional way of tuna fishing in Spain. The Arabic word مضربة / maḍraba originally means "place where is struck". Fishing techniques have changed little over the past thousand years. For this, the fishermen use gillnets, which are attached to the bottom of the sea with anchors and act as a fish fence.
