Do you love cheese, but don't get around to buying your favorite varieties fresh all the time? If you prefer to buy a little in advance - like right now, for example, so close to the holidays - then the question naturally arises as to how best to store the cheese so that it stays fresh and tasty for a long time. After all, you can't temper your home the way we do our business...!

To ensure that you have as much of your cheese as possible for as long as possible and that there are no nasty surprises among the joy, we share our best tricks with you in this short film. For example, we show how to make an improvised cheese dome...

Have fun!

All facts at a glance:

  • keep the cheese in the fridge unless you have a cool pantry or basement
  • Anything in which the cheese cannot breathe is unfavorable, because if it cannot breathe, it begins to sweat.
  • in the worst case, it also starts to get moldy and then you can soon dispose of it, which would be a shame.
  • The cheese cannot breathe, for example, in cling film or in a plastic box with a lid.
  • Cheese sold wrapped in plastic should also be repackaged at home. The plastic only serves to protect the cheese during transport.
  • Ideally, the cheese should be stored so that it can breathe. We recommend several options for this:
  1. In the waxed paper in the vegetable compartment of the fridge, it's a little moister there and the cheese doesn't dry out as much.
  2. A Tupperware with a slightly damp tea towel over it - without a lid!
  3. Or an improvised cheese dome. You can easily make them from a plate with a layer of household roll on it. The cheese is placed on top and covered with a (glass) bowl. Finished.
  4. Hard cheese can also be wrapped in a clean, slightly damp tea towel and stored in the fridge. This protects the cheese from drying out.

And here is our cheese range .
